LOCATION: Hobbs, NM – Hobbs Corps & Community Center
STATUS: FT/Non-Exempt/ 40hrs/wk (may require flex schedule to include nights and
weekends)

QUALIFICATIONS:
* High School diploma or GED required (experience in a social service capacity
may substitute in a 2:1 ratio)
* Must be able to pass a criminal background check
* Must be able to pass The Salvation Army’s Fleet Safety e-learning module
* New Mexico driver’s license with clean driving record
* Experience in a social service setting
* Experience in supervising staff
* Experience with helping people in crisis situations
* Able to oversee all aspects of the Street-Level program, including staffing,
food distribution, and information & referral
* Demonstrated ability to handle crisis/emergency services for the homeless,
including crisis intervention, crowd management, and conflict resolution
* Ability to assess at-risk participants and situations
* Demonstrate a positive attitude and ability to work with people of diverse
backgrounds and circumstances
* Able to maintain a non-judgmental attitude, professional approach, and
appropriate boundaries with clients
* Ability to assist clients toward positive outcomes
* Knowledge of local community agencies and referral processes
* Strong time management skills; detail-oriented and well organized
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work independently with limited supervision and effectively as
part of a collaborative team
* Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn
database systems (e.g., HMIS, WellSky)
* Ability to maintain agency standards and a professional, courteous demeanor
at all times
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Oversee all aspects of the Street-Level Program to ensure alignment with The
Salvation Army’s mission, policies, and procedures
* Ensure ongoing compliance with operational guidelines and provide feedback on
program effectiveness
* Monitor and report monthly program income and expenditures
* Identify and respond to community needs related to homelessness through
program planning and outreach
* Participate in community events to represent and advocate for the unhoused
population
* Serve as “manager on-call” as assigned
* Perform other duties as assigned related to the Street-Level Program
* Drive, park, and set up the mobile shower unit at service locations
* Maintain order, cleanliness, and organization of the mobile shower unit
* Clean and return the unit to its storage location after use
* Report any maintenance or repair needs for the shower unit, towing vehicle,
or trailer
* Assist clients in a welcoming, respectful, and professional manner
* Ensure a safe and dignified environment for all clients receiving services
* Provide direct assistance to clients as needed, using de-escalation, crisis
intervention, and conflict resolution techniques
* Maintain professional boundaries and a non-judgmental approach with all
clients
* Work closely with the social service team to connect clients to additional
resources and referrals
* Stock and maintain program supplies, including food boxes, hygiene kits,
towels, and clean clothing
* Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to the Social Services
Coordinator
* Collect, wash, dry, and fold towels and donated clothing used in the program
* Supervise and train Street-Level staff to ensure excellent service delivery
and adherence to standards
* Monitor staff performance, providing guidance and addressing deficiencies as
needed
* Recognize exceptional job performance and foster a positive team environment
* Coordinate ongoing staff development and training opportunities
* Manage and submit timely and accurate program statistics and reports
* Maintain accurate records of participant counts, services rendered, inventory
usage, and incidents using TSA WellSky or other reporting systems

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to
walk, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands
and arms on a continuous basis. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up
to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift
and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job
include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and
ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop
or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information
from a computer, and to understand written information.
Ability to tolerate and safely work effectively in temperature extremes. As well
as the agility to enter and exit a vehicle repeatedly each day and tolerate long
drives throughout the community.
