Housekeeping Assistant Manager
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant Manager. In
this role, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective daily
operation relating to the housekeeping department and will administer the
supervision of all housekeeping staff.
As part of our leadership team, you’ll embody our Promise to Lead with
Love—guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering
extraordinary guest experiences. You’ll help lead a team dedicated to
maintaining clean, comfortable, and welcoming accommodations that enhance every
guest's stay. By supporting associates, upholding quality standards, and
ensuring efficient daily operations, you'll play a key role in delivering
exceptional guest experiences while fostering a positive and engaged team
environment.
*** Position starting as early as September. ***
Pay Rate - $22 -$24/Hr.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor and evaluate staff work performance on an on-going basis, praises and
disciplines staff as appropriate.
* Attend management and department meetings and communicates with staff on all
shifts.
* Resolve guest complaints that will encourage repeat visits to the resort.
* Build team environment and group morale.
* Use proper two-way radio etiquette when communicating with all associates.
* Respond to all guest requests, problems, complaints, comment cards, letters
and/or phone calls, in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner. Follow
up to ensure guest satisfaction.
* Manage the day-to-day activities of the housekeeping department; schedule
associates to ensure proper coverage.
* Ensure associates are given the tools and equipment needed to effectively
carry out their respective job duties.
* Schedule routine inspections of all guest rooms/suites and public areas to
ensure everything is clean and in good repair.
What We’re Looking For
* We require you to have background, consisting of 4 years of previous
housekeeping supervisory experience, preferably in a hotel/resort with over
500 rooms.
* Must have a broad understanding of the tourism industry and the day-to-day
operations of a large volume hotel/resort.
* High School diploma or equivalent experience required.
* Four-year college degree preferred but not required.
* Ability to understand and effectively utilize above average computer
equipment and applications, to include but not limited to: Microsoft Office
Suite, Excel and Property or Lodging Management Systems (Visual One).
* Must be able to efficiently process and export data from LMS, Time/Attendance
and other property systems.
* Bilingual in English and Spanish is helpful.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
* Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 20 pounds of force
frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move
objects.
* Flexible and long hours sometimes required including weekends and holidays.
* Ability to stand during entire shift.
