Perinatal LPN - Full Time - Nightshift
72 hrs. biweekly - 630pm - 7am
As a Perinatal Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you'll work alongside experienced
Registered Nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to provide
compassionate, evidence-based care in our Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and
Postpartum (LDRP) unit.
What You'll Do:
Under the general direction of the LDRP Clinical Manager and the direct
supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will:
* Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to obstetrical and neonatal patients
as part of a collaborative care team.
* Assist in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care
using the nursing process and evidence-based practice.
* Monitor patient conditions and promptly communicate changes to the Registered
Nurse and healthcare team.
* Support mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, postpartum recovery,
and newborn care.
* Educate patients and families on postpartum and newborn care while promoting
a positive patient experience.
* Accurately document patient care and maintain compliance with regulatory,
accreditation, and organizational standards.
* Demonstrate sound clinical judgment and recognize actual or potential health
concerns requiring intervention.
* Maintain clinical competency through ongoing education and professional
development.
* Practice in accordance with the Maryland Nurse Practice Act, ethical
standards, and Meritus policies and procedures.
* Promote a culture of safety by reporting clinical or ethical concerns and
participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
Education – Graduate from an approved nursing program as a Licensed Practical
Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse.
Experience – One year experience in relevant specialty preferred. Previous
women's health, mother/baby, nursery, or acute care experience preferred.
Previous Operating Room Tech experience or education preferred or must complete
Perinatal Tech training course including didactic and clinical training
components within 6 months in the job. Must complete NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation
Program) certification during orientation period.
Licensure/Certification – Current license to practice in the State of
Maryland. Current BLS (CPR) in compliance with policy.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities – Ability to apply the standards of professional
nursing practice with compassion and empathy. Basic computer skills required.
Must possess high level of organizational and communication skills.
