Description
At Anacortes Health & Rehabilitation of Cascadia Healthcare, we’re dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality, skilled nursing and rehabilitation care that supports our residents in living their best lives. We’re looking for a dependable and team-oriented Culinary Aide / Dishwasher to support our dining services team. In this role, you’ll help prepare and serve meals while ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment for our residents, staff, and guests.
What You’ll Do
Assist with food prep, including beverages, salads, desserts, and other menu items
Serve meals and snacks in a timely, accurate, and appealing manner
Follow proper food safety and sanitation standards at all times
Ensure food is prepared and served at correct temperatures
Support meal delivery to designated areas according to schedule
Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment using proper procedures
Keep kitchen, dish area, and workspaces clean and organized
Label, date, and store food items correctly
Monitor and log food, refrigerator, freezer, and dishwashing temperatures
Assist with receiving and storing food and supplies
Help maintain inventory and report low stock to leadership
Use equipment safely and report any maintenance needs
Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and other departments
Provide friendly, respectful interactions with residents, families, and team members
What We’re Looking For
Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (or willingness to learn)
Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Team player with a positive attitude
Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)
Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality

Pay Range: $18-$21/hour (depending on experience)

Requirements
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Licenses/Certification
Food Handlers Permit, if required per state regulations.
Experience
Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.
Experience in food service is desired.
NOTE: Federal Child Labor Laws do not permit employees younger than 18 years of age to work with or repair, adjust, or clean power-driven machines such as meat slicers and commercial mixers. Therefore, individuals must be at least 18 years of age to be employed in this position.
